There are students without distinction of private university or national university.
Why do they protest against the government?
So to speak, It is pretty related the political dispute.
But I don't know about the politics deeply, So I just want to talk about that whether it is affordable to us or not.
At present, the tuition of South Korean private university is about 7.5 million won per year.
Moreover the case of national university is about 5.8 million won. And It is the second highest tuition of national university in the world after America. And the number of national university which has low tuition is just 18% of whole university in South Korea.
Is it affordable?
In my opinion, It is too expensive when compared with GDP or GNI(gross national income) of South Korea. Our GDP or GNI is not second highest in the world.
Furthermore, actually, the South Korean university has not received a favorable evaluation among the universities in other countries.
I think that most of the universities in South Korea offer the faithless education to students.
Most of them always think about how they can gather the money from students. After that they invest something for making their budget heavily.
And to conclude, I pay about 5.5 million won per year to my university.
I think that amount is not too expensive. So I just content with it. But It just only few students in our country. I hope to see the reduce in tuition fee in near future even though it is little amount.
