The international marriages in Korea.

Recently, the number of international marriages are increasing highly in Korea.
According to the presentation given by second group,
thesedays, 10.8% of the entire marriage is international marriages.
It is five times more than five years ago.
I thought this increases situation is natural result.
I thought that nowadays there are so many foreign people in Korea.
And we can be easily seen the people have different races.
So, We live in multicultural society.
Therefore, the man who want to marry with foreign women can get more chances than before.

But it was not true.
The presenters said that international marriages are concentrated in rural areas.
The most of  international marriages are made up of Korean man and foreign woman.
Why does it increases continuously like these form?
They said that because the number of people who live in countryside is decreased rapidly.
So, there are no women have suitable age or terms for marriage.
Accordingly, farmers should find their fiance in other country like Southeast Asia country.
That is the reason that concentration of international marriages in rural areas.
Moreover, one of the serious problem is their divorces.
As international marriages increase, the number of divorce is even more increase.
So, their children will grow in lonely or other problem due to their divorce.
For that reason, Korean government has a several program for multicultural family.
Such as language education, culture education, counselling with expert and so on.
Those will be good solution for some problem.
But in my opinion is that first of all,
the changing our sentiment and eyes about foreign people are the most helpful thing for multicultural family.


 

use of marijuana in Korea

Last week, we talked about use of marijuana in Korea.

First of all, The definition of Marijuana. It is also called as cannabis usually.

And it causes the hallucination when you smoke it.

It is composed of more than 400 components. And the main components that cause the  hallucination is called THC.

Marijuana has been used since 300 B.C for many purposes in Korea.

Such as the paper, pain killer, fabric and entertainment.

Finally, in 1961, the marijuana regulation was established, and marijuana started to be regarded as a drug. 

Even so, in 1970's, many young people smoked it to defiance of dictatorial government.

Since then, some people has smoked it for entertainment illegally.

 So far, We have seen many news about singer's or artist's marijuana smoking.

As a result, some of them went to jail, and few of them was suspended of indictment like G-dragon. 

So, these days, there are so many controversies about whether the smoking of marijuana is legal or illegal.

Consequently, Through the discussion of last week, I thought that smoking of marijuana need to be decriminalized.

It is because, first of all, some countries are already legalized or decriminalized.

Even in Amsterdam, their using of strong drug has been decreased since the legalization.

Second, as we saw in presentation, marijuana is less harmful and less addictive than alcohol or tobacco. 

So, I agree with decriminalization of marijuana in Korea. 

But, if i have chances for smoke it, I will try it just few times in curiosity.

Because I'm not a smoker. And I take care of my health.

Anyway marijuana has harmful things and addictiveness.

Even though it is less harmful than alcohol or tobacco.

Teenager crime

Last week, the second group gave a presentation about teenager crime.
Actually I have worried about that.
It is because, nowadays I can find a lot of news about teenager crime in the world or nation easily.
Even at this moment, Its growing rate is rising dramatically.
And they make their crimes more serious and cruel.
Such as robbery, assault and sexual assault.
It is nothing more or less than adult crime.
It makes me feel badly and anxiously.
So I try not to watch that news as possible.
But I think that we should be aware the gravity of the teenager crime.
Otherwise, we can't protect our children from crime.
And also can prevent for their crime caused themselves.
I think that it is the first way to help the decrease on teenager crime.
And next thing is the punishment.
In Korea, although the teenage crimes level is similar to adult crime, teenager criminal be punished much less than adult.
Maybe it is right system in morally.
But today's teenager criminal make bad use those systems.
They already know about the light punishment.
So, they commit the crime without hesitation.
In case of other country which have strict punishments on teenager criminal.
Maybe their teenager feel the scare.
So, I think the Korean government should make the strict law on teenager crime.
And strengthen the existing law.
